1. Discussion groups / support groups
a. Weekly every Wednesday at the Fairhaven retirement village at 10.30 am to 11.45 am - group organiser - gloria welsh
b. Monthly, every 3 rd Thursday morning discussion group at 10am at retina South Africa resource centre, suite 5, euro house, 45 Newton street Newton park, port Elizabeth.
c. Eye care service -first and third Tuesdays of every month- optometric service. Eye testing and spectacles. +

2. Training and education - also list previous training done and pics and feedback comments
a. Monthly workshops - Retina South Africa resource centre - workshops are held to educate and train all persons in the public and private sectors on how to identify persons affected by a retinal degenerative disorder, the identifying symptoms, how and where to source accurate clinical diagnosis, the management of affected persons and their family members, importance of being listed on retinal research registry, the research programs and procedures, vision rehabilitation

4. Sportsman warehouse road race

b. Venue - Sportsman's Warehouse, Moffat Retail Park. Port Elizabeth
5. Street collection
a. June - Port Elizabeth - volunteer collectors needed between 9 and 1 pm. Give one or more hours of your time to hold a can outside a store or shopping mall.
b. In store collection cans - collection cans are placed at till points. - Your change can change a life!
6 October - rotary club gala ladies dinner
Retina South Africa is the beneficiary of this event. Buy a table for ten and enjoy an evening of entertainment.
6. Herald Christmas Cheer Fund (list 2009 beneficiaries and car winner) - June to November - buy a ten rand ticket and stand a chance to win a car. R5 of the proceeds supports retinal research projects and R5 supports the Christmas cheer fund
